Peanut the pooch

This is my neighbors sweet Chihuahua - Peanut. I just love her to pieces. It was her bedtime and she gets really sleepy.

Christmas Ball 'snoods'

Saw something similar to this, only made with beads - not being a big bead fan, I decided to try and crochet these 'snoods'. I set my camera to portrait, but still haven't been able to get a clear picture.

Halloween Tote Bag

I made this tote from some fabric that one of my dear Quilt Workshop gals gave me - I fell in love with it on first sight. Hope you can make out the cartoonish people in the fabric - they are priceless.

Long time no post - Pumpkins 2010

It has been so long since I have posted on my blog - these pumpkins are sewn from a pattern in SewNews magazine - thought they turned out fairly nicely.

Betsy Ross Bed Doll

This one was a lot more fun to sew up, as I didn't have to read the instructions - I do a lot better on my own.

Dolls of all sorts

In the last two weeks I have done a Mary Englebrett wall hanging of a girl (doll) and today I finished a pillow case doll - remind me that I don't enjoy working with small pieces of fabric - the Pillow case doll sdtretched my good nature to the limit.

Layout for gift bags

After laying the two strips (5"X22") in the shape of a cross - sew along the middle on each side - then sew each of the four sides together - hem down top of bag - add handles (grosgrain ribbon) and lace if desired.

Clay pot doll

We made these cute clay pot dolls in Craft Club today - I used a metal vase for my base, and a clay pot head that I painted, the other gals used a larger clay pot on the bottom. It was a lot of fun decorating them up with buttons and 'stuff'.

fat cats

I made this wall hanging using part of a jelly roll in some pretty wild colors - I plan on adding a buillion fringe at the bottom - too quiet the way it is - ha ha....

Craft Club flag

What fun it was to make this flag. It is composed of red, white and blue form core. A pair of scissors, paper punch ruler, paper clips, bells and some glue and that's it! The small rod on top can be made from bamboo sticks that you use on the grill - after it was finished I noticed that the long stripes and the short stripes are uneven - we looked at the picture from the magazine and theirs was uneven too - how funny. I could have fixed it, but I sort of like it the way it is.

Keeping off the roads and alley

One of the gals in our quilt workshop showed us how to crochet a 'curly' scarf and we all loved trying it out. Using different yards and needles really made a big difference on how they turned out.

Yesterday we worked on making greeting cards at Craft Club - lots of fun. Some of the gals have great ideas and do some swell stuff - mine was sort of vanilla.

Some of my latest sewing projects

I am shocked to see how long it has been since I accessed my blog - I could blame it on my knee giving out, but that hasn't really slowed down my sewing projects.

I am posting a photo of my quilted tote bag with double lace around the top, also a 'messenger' type bag that can also serve as a throw pillow cover (it is 13" X 13"), and the staw hat wreathy that I just made yesterday.

Log Cabin Quilt

My son came by this afternoon and straightened up my computer and all the USB hubs - I had dropped them on the floor under the desk and couldn't reach anything. Sure glad I have so many smart sons (and a smart daughter too).

I am finally able to upload pictures of my Log Cabin quilt.

First Wall Hanging for Christmas 2010

This is the first wall hanging that I have made for Christmas 2010 - I like it so much, I might make more than one. It is also the first time that I have done binding around the outside of a quilt -not perfect, but interesting and I can only get better (I hope!)

Picture of some of the family

This picture was taken on Valentine's Day (2010) in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. I'm seated in red and my twin is in blue.

Some of my latest endeavors

At Craft Club today we painted clay pots - the other gals are gloriously creative - me, not so much - still it was fun. I wanted my pots to put next to the sewing machine to hold all the utencils of torture that I need to sew with.

I'll see if I can locate the picture of the chenille bathmat I made last week.

Latest 12 Cat Wall Hanging

Remind me that I don't like applique work and I certainly don't like using the glue gun. I am such a sucker for the cat wall hangings - sure wish I could find some cute dog wall hangings, but so far, I haven't seen any that caught my eye.

Also here is the wooden spoon doll we made at Craft Club today - a lot of fun and the faces all turned out differently - we did a variety of hair too - what fun!
